Think about your previous cars and what they offered you as the customer. If we look at cars through
the ages we see a continuation of styling that is becoming more aerodynamic as well as efficient and
with some still smart enough to try and style the looks of the outside of the car. Thirty years ago we
pretty much had the option of Sports Car, Family Car, Wagon, or Truck and now we have so much more
to choose from with so many more companies. We grew up buying American cars that were mediocre
on reliability in many cases and sometimes downright pitiful. We had the invasion of Japanese vehicles
and the continuation of European imports but the Japanese cars would show us that efficiency and
reliability would play a bigger part in car ownership as well as value and longevity. In the 80’s many car
companies in America were producing inefficient cars with 5.0 liter V8’s that produce less horse power
than 1.6 liter engines do of today. For cars 2013 and trucks we are seeing resurgence in power as well
as efficiency and reliability. The 2013 cars are now utilizing more efficiency helping technologies such as
direct injection and twin scroll turbo charging systems that help to produce numbers of horsepower that
wouldn’t be conceived just a few years prior. So for 2013 cars and beyond prepare to see more forced
induction engine designs that operate smarter and more efficiently. As more 2013 trucks we shall see
more 6 cylinder trucks producing 8 cylinder numbers.

The market for baseball cleats has become an ultra competitive market that has changed the evolution of baseball cleats and their designs. We see many companies getting into the baseball cleat market yet only a select few are prospering in it. Companies like Adidas, Jordan, Mizuno, Nike, Puma, Reebok, Under Armour, and 3N2 have all claimed a stake in the baseball cleats section of the sports market. There are many different styles and of course every baseball cleat manufacturer claims that their product is the best but in actuality is there much of a difference between them? The facts are in and there are differences between manufactures in price, quality, material, design and function but overall there is little differences. The fact is that there are many similar cleats but it is important to know what is right for your taste and if you are unsure than it may be wise to look at an interchangeable pear of baseball cleats that can be diverse enough to accommodate your style and need. If you plan on playing on several different surfaces then you may wish to look into something more accommodating to your needs. The fact that many of us that play baseball have a certain feel that we would like to retain may be reason enough to stick with a certain manufacture and the same thing goes for the dimensions of your foot since different shoe manufacturers will differ in length, width, arch support, and overall room. So take a moment to look at all the different baseball cleats.

It’s with a heavy heart we issue this press release.

Joy Stockholm will withdraw from the NPPL series after the last event in San Diego 2007.
It has been a great experience but unfortunately the deteriorating quality of the reffing
has made it impossible for us to commit the time and effort it takes to attend. We feel that it’s now impossible for us to be
able to compete on equal
basis in the NPPL with the present reffing staff.
We originally had hopes that the situation would get better after the
OC fiasco but it has not.
Event after event we have suffered horrendous, unjust calls against us
with the last incident in KC where we were denied hang points because
the flag wasn’t in place (the judge’s responsibility) was just the last
straw.

It was bad enough the refs had forgotten to place the flag in our
opponent’s base before the game but after the game had finished and the head
judge was made aware of the ref’s oversight, they obvoiusly had an
opportunity to put things right and elected not to thus precluding our
advancement into the semi-finals, that was an outrageous decision and the
straw that finally broke the back and heart of Joy Stockholm. We have
tried to contact NPPL after the event but they have not bothered to
answer or email.

Our apologies to our fans in the US who have been fantastic, the degree
of support we have got is what kept us going after OC but I’m sure
they will all understand our decision and hopefully we will see each other
soon.

Also, apologies to our sponsors who have made it possible for us to
attend these events in the US.
WDP-Draxxus-NXE-REBALL-STIFFI-BK-SNAPBOX
We have had 2 great seasons where we have made the final 4 no less then
5 times the last 7 events !!

We hope that NPPL will wake up and solve this problem so other teams
can compete on an equal basis.
and stop denying the bias and incompetent reffing.
As for now, the NPPL makes it impossible for a European team to compete
on an equal footing due to biased and incompetent reffing.
And that is truly sad because Joy helped NPPL in the first years after
the split with the reffing program.
We reffed many events before taking a pro spot in 2005.
We are truly sorry that it had to come to this, hopefully changes will
be made in the future that can make
us feel welcome in the US again.
Joy have always been about playing the game for the love and fun of it,
and when that is taken away we can’t find any reason to continue. Joy
have been NPPL’s biggest supporters and have attended every event since
2005. We still love everything the NPPL have done for the sport and
wish the legue all the best in the future.

Avalanche breaks up!!! Dave Bains and Glenn Takamoto to play with XSV. Brandon Mayo is supposedly heading back to the Philly Americans at a hefty pay rate. Stay tuned for further updates.

Smart Parts drops ultimate, the kids switch to Ecockers.

Dynasty backs out of the Miami NXL franchise spot and Doc’s Raiders slides in. Now powered by several X-Detroit Strange players and a plethora of ringers from numerous other pro teams, Doc’s roster is quickly filling out. I imagine this means quite the boost in sponsorship for Doc as well considering he is a full fledged SP team now. Look for big things from these guys in 06.

Miami Raiders 2006 roster:

Captain: William “BJ” Jolley
Coach: Paul Richards
Billy Banachia
Chris Bell
Paul “LP” Everett
Brian Giliotti
Dan Holliday
Thomas Mantoni
Ross O’Rourke
“Dirty” Dave Pastore
Matt Richards
Bryan Smith
Kyle Stall

With that said, what will come of Dynasty? They will either buy their own franchise or occupy one of the 5 invite slots?

Look for a final press release from the leagues during these next few weeks describing the new happenings and schedule for the up coming season.

Russian Legion buys out Chicago Evil’s super 7 franchise spot in the NPPL Pro bracket.

Do to a slump in industry sales; PMI has been making an unusual amount of employee layoffs.

Miami Dynasty, that’s right look for Miami Dynasty in the NXL during 2006.

Well it sounds like the NPPL/PSP reunification is a flop. Imagine that.

Look for a press release concerning the NXL league expansion soon. Word is you won’t even need a franchise to play, so it won’t be a locked league.

Word on the skreet is paintballs biggest outside company Crossman is looking to pull out of conventional completely. If I had to guess, I would say they will continue the Game Face project only to sell paintballs and low end guns at Wal-Mart. What will come of the Detroit NXL franchise?

Well as far as the Detroit franchise goes… I would bet Richmond Italia (owner of Procaps and father of the Xball game type) takes over and makes Team Strange the next Procaps marketing pilot.

I have heard a buzz about Zap paintballs closing their doors due to money problems as soon as two months from now.

I don’t know if anyone noticed but that new Empire paint looks a lot like Evil without an “E” printed on it. I would be willing to bet PMI is producing the entire Empire paint line.

On the other hand, most people know that National no longer carries Draxxus paint and the PMI merger is rumored to have flopped. With that said, I believe National has turned to Blue Arch (a local Tampa company) to help produce the Diablo paint line. I imagine that National may buy out Blue Arch some time in the near future for convenience alone.

Sounds like Chicago Aftershock may be losing one of their best players… Stay tuned.
Finally some solid insight on what will be happening to the NXL in 2006. Word is, the league will remain locked but they will be expanding from 10 to 16 teams. You can expect Dynasty, Avalanche, Naughty Dogs, XSV, Infamous, Bob’s team, and whoever the new Pro-caps team will be to be first to get spots. Jockeying for any open positions will be; Doc’s Raiders, Joy Division, Rage, and Ultimate. NXL is rumored to be adding a finals round to each event and 30g’s cash to the winner. If that doesn’t make it more interesting I don’t know what will. Teams will play a lot more matches; I’m assuming they are going to adopt the double elimination style bracketing system to declare the winner.

Now here is some news that might piss off a few of the divisional Xball teams in the PSP. The NXL is supposed to be the ONLY place to play true unabbreviated XBall in 2006. PSP divisional teams will be competing in a new style of xball called “Xball light”. This game type will be a 15 minute race to 7 points. This will be much shorter and faster to accommodate teams with smaller budgets and rosters.

There are a lot of new rumors coming out of the Avalanche camp, some say they are loosing or dropping WDP and will be picking up Eclipse and shooting egos during the upcoming season. Others say half of their team will be leaving, but there is a lot of talent in California and the legend of Avalanche will live on. This may be just what Ed needs to take his team to the finals. If they loose Glen and Dave however, uhhh oh.

Another huge splash in the WDP pond concerns the WDP poster team Arsenal. Supposedly WDP will not be renewing their sponsorship during the upcoming season and this will cause many of the personally sponsored players to look else where for teams to play on. They are also supposed to be making some big cuts too.

The answer is RAGE… They will be one of the only teams left in 2006 to be carrying angels on to the field. Look here for some Arsenal stars next year.

PBDojo’s latest little birdie speculates that Daryl Trent will not be coaching at all next year. The big wigs at Smart Parts are making calls to all kinds of people to coach Philly next season. Tom Zawadski (old school pro from a team called the Nobodies and ex-captain of newer team Viewloader All-stars) is now on the list of potential coaches for next year.

As reported by anonymous source, Brandon Short from Legacy has resigned and is going to be playing with Dynasty Dynamics for 7man and Dynasty for Xball.

I have heard a few people talking about a few of the San Diego Legacy players drinking and driving. Apparently there was an accident in a rental car preceded by a fight between Mark Krenngle and Anson Hong. From what I hear Anson ended up with a fractured cheek bone resulting in the complete loss of one of his eyes and a short comma. Mark is now rumored to be in jail and will not be released until after trial. If any or all of this is true my prayers are with the players and I hope at the very least this teaches the paintball community a lesson about the dangers of drinking and driving.

Philly is offering up big bucks to 2004 team member Brandon Mayo, who quit the Philadelphia Americans after the 2004 season to play with Avalanche in 2005. They dealt up 7 guns to get him back for world cup and offered much more then that for him to play with the team again in 2006.

Nicky Vegas quitting XSV? Supposedly Nicky is pretty frustrated with the lack of play time he is getting on XSV and is now exploring other options.

Alex Lunquist, Bart, and Matt Blonski to quit New York Xtreme and Play for Chicago Aftershock. These guys have been seen playing with a number of teams recently, including New York Xtreme, Joy Division, and Aftershock. Word on the street is that they will be making a new full time home with Chicago Aftershock for the 2006 season.
posted 11/14/2005

Dr. Draper from Doc’s Raiders to buy out the New England Hurricanes… With the rumors of vast sponsorship cut backs in 2006, New England is franticly searching for new ways to fund their NPPL Pro team during the up coming season. Doc has offered to pick up some of the expenses if the team agrees to push the Raider name.

Some speculate that the NPPL and PSP will be merging during the upcoming 2006 season and the leagues have decided to adopt the XBall format.

Like every year, Smart Parts is making major moves with their teams in order to stay on top. My sources indicate that during the off season team Miami Effect will be completely cleaning house. They are fishing in a few different talent pools in order to create a winning team for 2006. There are offers on the table for a number of Dynasty, Strange, and Avalanche team members. Also, there will be some management changes in the pit area for the two Smart Parts owned NXL teams. Ex Detroit Strange coach Toney Mineo will be coaching for Philly and former Philly coach Daryl Trent is planning to take over the struggling Miami franchise once he signs a powerhouse of new players. posted 11/13/2005

I have also heard some rumors of Strange player Dan Holliday signing up to play under Russia’s flag next season for a substantial amount of cash. $75,000 for three years? They must really want to win next year…

The rumor is, ALL… That’s right ALL, of Legacy’s players are quitting the team after world cup and combining with HK division 1 team due to their pure hatred for authority, Gary Shows, and the NXL. Some of them may try to jump back on their former team, LA Ironmen.

From what I gather there is trouble in Florida, Doc’s Raiders is supposedly making some big pick ups from the long time FL power house Team Strange. Paul “LP” Everett and Brian Smith have both left the team and there are rumors of their other pals joining up with them on the dark side after world cup. Some say it’s for political reasons, others say money, or maybe is all of the political nonsense… I guess will have to wait until after world cup to find out.
Insight on the NXL (Life or Death)

At this point who really cares, honestly? The league hasn’t done much in its 3 years of existence. After how bad last years cup coverage was on ESPN2 half of us probably wouldn’t watch it again anyway. Teams are all changing their rosters, some teams players are quitting; other teams are leaving the league all together. Word is, the there is supposed to be an NXL next year but I would like to see them pull it off if all the teams leave. Maybe the refs can play each other.

Other rumors speculate that the NPPL is trying to buy rights to the NXL, this is slightly more interesting. If the NPPL were running the show, it would probably get done right.

1. Dynasty

Angel Fragosa

Team – Obviously the best team in paintball bar none.

Angel – In my opinion the most underrated and most under publicized player on the team. This was a no brainer in my opinion that guy has won more game single handedly then anyone on their team. Oliver would be the normal cliché, while he is a great player I think the spotlight should shine on Angel.
2. Russian Legion

Constantine Federov

Team – Coming out swinging in 2004 the Legion will take the US by force, dominating every one they have played in 05 other then Aftershock (only loss this season, LA open) and strange (10 – 9 Orlando open) every other team has lost by a considerable margin… They will be playing in the money round for 1st or 2nd at world cup in the NXL this year. Let’s see if they can seal the deal.

Federov – One of the most athletic and dominant players in the sport… He will go to any position on the field on do it better then anyone one else out there. Scary.

3. Oakland Assassins

Josh Davey

Team – Some times I think Bobby sold his soul to the paintball devil to be the best team in paintball and in return he would never be able to win a tournament. When they are on…. No one is better but they seem to choke in the money rounds.

Josh Davey – I don’t have much to say about Josh other then he is a well rounded paintball player. I gave him props over the other Oakland players because of his consistancy.

4. Detroit Strange

Brian Smith

Team – Like Oakland, Strange has proven to be unstoppable when they are hot, unfortunately they stomp on their own sacks more often then I like to see. They have a lot of heart but maybe not enough to make up for what they lack in consistency.

Brian Smith – A new blood edition to Strange as of 2003. Brian is one of the most dedicated players to the sport I have seen. He is well rounded and is constantly growing as a player.

5. XSV

John Richardson

Until the 05 Denver open XSV was the ..1 red headed step child of team dynasty. They have a lot of depth in their roster but I think they lack little fast guys. This is team you don’t want to get in a brawl with; every one of their players is about 6’ 3” and 200lbs. 1 or 2 more quick fast guys and I think their xball scores would beef up a bit.

JR – They only player in paintball worthy of being a top 5 individual player for 10 years in a row. JR has been the best player on every team he has been on for a loooong time.

6. Avalanche

Brandon Mayo, Glenn Takamoto, and Dave Bains

Team – I think this team is performing way under their potential. They have a great roster and are a cool group of guys at that. If they pull it together they would jump up quit a bit on my charts and even more on the podium.

These three guys are all worth mentioning – Brandon is faster then any one person should be and a great player at that. Glenn and Dave are both great players, smart, and experienced as well.

7. Baltimore Trauma

Tyler Humphreys

Always a powerhouse, this team can take ANY team to the matt on a good day. They seem to be cleaning house in the roster division, I think taking some of the younger kids out of the mix will help there consistency some, they have a pretty solid core of experienced players.

Tyler Humphreys – Tyler has been playing on a higher level for a long time, he is one of Traumas only players that stands apart from the rest.

8. Philly Americans

Tim Monchester

Team – Another team playing way below there potential but they deserve some slack. It’s a rebuilding year for them and it may just take some time for them to jell but if there roster remains consistent they will be dangerous when they get it back together again. They have a stacked roster I couldn’t tell you what the problem is… Some say the coach is overrated and others say the egos are just clashing but I think they just need a little time to get it together. They also have a few anchor lines I can’t believe they haven’t cut yet. Trim the fat and play the playmakers.

Tim Monchester – Hands down the best player among many good ones. Tim is everything a good player should be, fast, small, athletic, smart, and aggressive.

9. Infamous

Not Chris Lasoya

Team – I’m not gunna lie, I don’t really like em, but they make it to Sunday more then they don’t so there here. Not the most honest team around but they will shoot you 1 way or another. They will defiantly do whatever it takes to win.

Frank the tank – who knows if this guy is still with em but he is probly there best player if he is… and the nicest too.

10. Naughty Dogs

Always in there but they seem to loose players quickly… And a lot of good ones recently. Loosing Map and the fields defiantly hurts. I don’t recognize too many of them anymore. Other then rocky, lil Lew, and Raymond.

Rocky – He has been around forever and always stays competitive. You can never count him out when hes on the other side of the feild.

Honorable mention Aftershock, Ironmen, and Arsonel in that order.

1. Shock – Mike Paxson/Bart Blonski

Another team playing great this year, once their newer guys get on the level of the rest they will be real contender for tourney titles. I think they have one of the most underrated coaches in the sport and some really paintball intelligent back players.

Mike Paxson – is they glue that holds this team together on the field, no one on the roster can fill his shoes; his absence would defiantly make a difference.

Bart Blonski – if he is on the team for good he will help shock a lot. He is one of the best headhunter style players I have ever seen.

2. Ironmen – Eric Roberts

They are playing great this season, there core is a little old but age brings wisdom. If their new guys listen and learn they will only get better and better.

Erob – One at the top of my underrated players list, he is a great player that is down to earth, has no ego, and gets the job done.

3. Arsenal – JC Whittington

Team – Could be better I guess, a lot of their guys don’t or cant shoot left handed and that gets on my nerves when I look at the calendar and it says 2005. They have a couple of play makers but not enough to win them an event. Maybe in a few years when there newer younger guys get some experience we will see some gold medals.

JC – Is a Pitbull among poodles.

These 10 individuals are making underwater waves in the tournament paintball industry that few seldom see or read about. These people are here because they have achieved excellence in the eyes of the PBDojo and do not receive the press they deserve. There are many excellent players that are not on this list but keep in mind, these are paintballs SILENT killers.
Tyler “Thump” Humphreys
Baltimore Trauma
Most of you that don’t play pro or live in the Carolina area may not even know who this guy is. You don’t often see him in magazines or articles, but Tyler is one of paintball’s best aggressive front players. Not only is he a great player now, but he has been kicking ass in high profile paintball tournaments for something close to 10 years.

Josh Davey
Bob Long’s Ironmen
This guy has really come into his own during the last few years. The words I would use to define Josh is CLUTCH and consistent. He is always alive and ready to turn a really shitty situation into a win. Josh is probably the best player coming out of Canada.

Eric “E-Rob” Roberts
LA Ironmen
Other then a few Dye ads, you don’t see too much of this guy. He has really kept the Ironmen heart pumping over the past few years. E-rob is another aggressive forward receiving unjust underexposure. In addition to having top notch game, Eric is one of the nicest guys I have met. He doesn’t have a big head or an ego and he always gives 110% on the field.

Todd Adamson
LA Ironmen
In my opinion, Todd is paintball’s overall smartest player. Todd may not be very fast or athletic, but he is the epitome of sneaky, clever, and tricky. He’s the only guy out there still shooting from the hip and killing people; the man gets it done. Todd is another one who has been taking care of business for YEARS and has set the bar for longevity.

Bart Blonski
Chicago Aftershock
Bart is one of paintball’s best aggressive headhunters. Bart plays with his own, “in your face yet sneaky style”. Look for Bart catapult to playing his best paintball to date during this upcoming season with Aftershock. I think being surrounded by better players will really bring out Bart’s “A game”; no need to hold back.

Bryan Smith
Miami Raiders Pro formally Detroit Strange
Bryan was one of the only players I have seen come into the NXL from an amateur team and hit the ground running. He is also one of the most dedicated players to the sport that I know. Agent Smith is always the first one on the field and the last one off. This will be Bryan’s third year on the pro circuit and I’m expecting big things out of this guy over the next few years to come.

Brian Stewart
Baltimore Trauma
Brian is an insanely solid back guy and extremely smart. Stewart was Baltimore’s ace in the hole during the 2005 world cup. He was the cornerstone of success for them this year and has been a long time play maker for Trauma since the amateur days. Brian is the total paintball package; heart, dedication, brains, and ability.

JC Wittington
Arsenal
The only player to make my list that still chooses to cross shoot. Regardless, he is a stone cold killing machine. JC is fast, experienced, and aggressive. He no doubt has made more than his fair share of a difference in the minor successes that Arsenal has seen during the time they have existed.

Mike Carthy
Detroit Strange
Carthy is paintball’s first ever and still reining professional paint sniper. Mike is the only guy I have ever seen play a seven minute NXL point, using only half a loader of paint, and still managed to get four kills. He is also paintball’s only remaining saint. I have SEEN him call himself out on multiple barrel tip and shoe lace hits. With all of that said Carthy has steadily held his ground at the top of the player rankings for the last seven years and continues to be one of the world’s best one-on-one players.

Travis Day
Miami Rage
This guy blows my mind every time I watch him play. The man single handedly wins games. Four on ones, three on ones, and two on ones it doesn’t matter, ninja Travis will win the game. If a decent conventional team could only figure out a way to brain wash this kid into dedicating himself to the sport, their rankings would jump up to top four by default.
